Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has denied media reports that he fought a fan after Hapoel Be’er Sheva lost at home to Hapoel Ra’anana at the weekend.
The 26 year old player took to his instagram wall to quash the reports on an Isreali website www.ynet.co.il, adding that he rather appreciates fans for their overwhelming support.
“The report on www.ynet.co.il that I wanted to fight a fan or fans yesterday after our loss to Hapoel Rihanna were all false,” he began.
“I have never done such in my entire career and I will never do such. I appreciate the fans and their support towards us,”
Ogu however allayed the fears of Hapoel’s fans after the team failed to get back to winning ways in the New Year.
Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s last triumph in the Ligat ha’Al was a 2-1 against Hapoel Petah Tikva in December.
“And for the result against Hapoel Rihanna, we are very sad about it and we want the fans to bear in mind that we have many games to play for and we will always give our best to get the maximum points,” he wrote.
Ogu has played 16 games scoring twice.
