–Israeli based Eagles star happy to be back in the team
Recalled Super Eagles midfielder John Ugochukwu Ogu, has said he has to give his best to remain in the Super Eagles, ahead of the two international friendly matches against Uganda and South Africa.
The 26-year old was only recently recalled to the Nigeria set-up after almost two years out of the team, and he acknowledges that given the quality the country possesses, he must give his best to retrain his shirt.
“I want to give my all to the team as there is already a lot of quality players, so I’m just coming in to give my best.
“I’m coming to fight for the shirt, to fight for the country because no one was happy when we failed to qualify for the last
Nations Cup and that has sort of made it a bit more difficult for the players,” he told said.
The Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder arrived in Uyo yesterday for the international friendly match against Uganda.
Ogu however said he was happy that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has arranged two international friendly matches for the Super
Eagles as part of preparations towards the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in June.
“I think the NFF are doing the right thing by organizing these games and it will help to build the team,” he said.
