Ogu Savours Nomination For Isreali League Top Awards

John Ogu is delighted to be nominated for the Best Player as well as the Best Foreign Player of the year awards in the Isreali League, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Hapoel Be'er Sheva midfielder will battle two of his teammates; Maor Melikson and Elyaniv Barda, as well as Maccabi Tel Aviv duo; Eran Zahavi and Gael Abertman for the player of the season gong.

The former Portugal- based player will seek to beat another Nigerian, Tony Nwaekeme and three others to the best African player honour.

Ogu who has enjoyed a fine season in the Isreali top flight this term took to Twitter to express his joy at being nominated for the awards.

"It feels great to be nominated for the player of the season and as one of the best foreign player in Isreal League," Ogu wrote on his Twitter handle.

He has scored four goals and recorded three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for Hapoel Beer Sheva this season.
