By Johnny Edward:

Hapoel Be'er Sheva’s midfielder John Ogu has been voted the best foreign player in the Isreali Ligat Al by the captains of the teams in the division, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Nigerian midfielder who chalked up 62.4% of the votes in the poll beat his teammate and compatriot Anthony Nwakaeme, who came second with 21.6%.

Nikita Rokabitzih came third in the poll while the duo of Elyaniv Barda and Yarin Hassan completed the top five in fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Ogu who has scored four goals in 35 games this season could make history with Hapoel Be'er Sheva by winning the Ligat Al for the first time in 40 years with a win on Saturday if they beat Bnei Sakhnin in the final day of their season.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva currently on 80 points lead the three-time defending champions Maccabi Tel Aviv with two points.
