Oguchi Is Afrobasket 2015 MVP

D'Tigers' shooting guard, Chamberlain Oguchi emerged as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2015 Afrobasket championship which ended on Sunday in Tunisia with Nigeria beating arch-rivals Angola 74 – 65.

The foremost African basketball championship's partner, Tissot presented Oguchi with the top award, in recognition of his outstanding performances in the competition.

According to fiba.com,  "0guchi made three of his ten three-point attempts as part of a 3-of-11 shooting display on his way to a game-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Nigeria held off Angola 74-65 to claim their first-ever continental title."

Oguchi, 29, also topped the All-Star Five list of Afrobasket 2015. His Nigeria teammate, Al-Farouk Aminu also made the list. Others in the All-Star Five are; Carlos MoraisMakram Ben Romdhane and Gorgui Dieng.

Champions, D'Tigers of Nigeria have booked an automatic ticket for Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Finalists, Angola and semi-finalists Tunisia and Senegal will compete in an Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
