Okocha Salutes Wenger Over Akpom, Iwobi

Former Super Eagles skipper, Austin Okocha, has praised Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger on his positive impact on younsters, Alex Iwobi – his nephew, and Chuba Akpom, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Both players were in action for the Gunners in their 6-0 victory against Olympique Lyon at the Emirates Cup on Saturday, with Iwobi getting on the score sheet.

Commenting on their performance, Okocha wrote on his Twitter page: “My nephew Alex Iwobi marked his Emirate’s debut with a goal. Great stuff Alex. Wenger is really doing a great job with the young star.

“Chuba Akpom whose dad is a good friend of mine is also on the right course. A hat-trick in their Asian trip says a lot about what to come.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal will take on Wolfsburg on Sunday in their next game at the Emirates Cup with Akpom and Iwobi expected to feature.
