Ifeanyiubah United center-back, Chibuzor Okonkwo has told Completesportsnigeria.com the team is not in a hurry for the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League title.
The newly promoted side are in firm race for the silverware after amassing 13 points from seven round of games.
After a hard fought 2-0 victory over Enyimba at Beverly Hills Hotel Stadium, Nnewi on Sunday, Okonkwo, a silver medalist with the U23 national team at Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, said they can only remained focused and take the games just as they come.
“It was a difficult game, we tried to size up Enyimba in the first half because they are full of experience and parade top class players,” Okonkwo tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I’m happy it worked out. Talking about the league title, I can only say we’re not in a hurry for the title.
“The road is still too far, we just need to be focused and take the games as they come and see how far we can go”.
Okonkwo scored his second goal of the season after converting a stoppage time penalty kick when rampaging Abuchi Okeke was felled inside the area.
