Newly signed Rasheed Olabiyi has reflected of Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC to life in the Nigeria top flight was least in his expectation.
The 3SC midfielder believes that the Ibadan club have got a fairly decent playing personnel to compete with the best in Nigeria’s top flight this term.
But Olabiyi is now rallying his teammates to stand up and be counted, and leave no room for any margin of errors in their next league match.
“It is not the kind of start we had hoped for this season. We have played two games and lost the two games. Going forward we have to be very focused, tight at the back and also take our [scoring] chances in matches which we have failed to do in those two matches.
“There is a lot of work to be done in the team. But I still believe we have a very strong team that can match any other in the league, it is just a matter of time,” Olabiyi said tosupersport.com.
Olabiyi joined 3SC as a free agent at the start of the season having ended his time at Enyimba.
But he and his teammates have not enjoyed the best of start to this season, which now sees the Oluyole Warriors sit at the base of the Glo Premier League standings with no points.
It is the first time since the 2009/10 season when 3SC have failed to win their opening two games in the Nigerian top flight.
