Basketball star Victor Oladipo, who was born to Nigerian parents and considered playing for D'Tigers at Rio 2016, has signed a multi-year contract with his NBA side Oklahoma City Thunder.
Though the terms of the deals were not officially disclosed, it is reported to be a four-year $84million package for the former Orlando Magic guard.
The Executive Vice President and General Manager of the club Sam Presti said in a press statement that Oladipo is the future of the franchise.
Oladipo, an Indiana University product who is in his fourth NBA season, has appeared in 227 games (170 starts) and posted averages of 15.9 points, 4.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.62 steals in 33.2 minutes per game.
"We are excited to extend our partnership with Steven and Victor,” Presti said.
The former National Co-Defensive Player of the Year in college was named to the 2016 USA Men’s Select Team this past summer.
