Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, hopes Watford striker Odion Ighalo can replicate his impressive club form when Nigeria face Egypt in 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures next month, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The forward has been in scintillating form for Watford this season and has scored 15 goals for the club in the Premier League.
Much will be expected from him when the Eagles file out against the Pharaohs in their two legged ties in March.
And Oliseh is looking forward to the former Granada man.
“Ighalo is doing well at Watford which is good for us. We hope he stays injury-free before the games against Egypt as he is one player we will be counting on to help us win the game,” Oliseh told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“We also have another good striker in Simon Moses who has done well for us in recent games.
“Already we have some players from the CHAN team that we will invite for the game.
“All we want to do now is look at those positions that are not strong enough and then strengthen them.”
Egypt lead Group G with six points after two rounds of matches, while Nigeria are second with four points.
Only the group winners are guaranteed automatic qualification to the 2017 AFCON to be staged in Gabon.
