Oliseh: Ibe Has Chosen England Over Nigeria

By James Agberebi:

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has revealed that Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe will prefer to play for England seniors rather than Nigeria.
Ibe qualifies for Nigeria through his father, while the winger has played for England at age-grade level.
Oliseh confirmed on Sunday via Twitter that Ibe’s family informed him about their son’s decision.
He however went on to wish the 19-year-old all the best.
“Jordon Ibe’s family informed me by a telephone call, that he was giving priority to an England call-up,” Oliseh wrote. “We wish them well.”
In August, Oliseh made a personal approach to try and persuade the winger to switch his international allegiance from England.
Ibe was in action for Liverpool in their 3-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Darey, you are right. He is not any better than the SE players we already have at home and abroad. He has very insignificant or no iota to add to the SE. He is no loss to Nigeria.

  4. Personally I really don’t think we need this guy. He has not impressed me anytime I manage to watch Liverpool. Having said that I believe Oliseh did not do a good job of convincing him to play for Nigeria. Maybe Oliseh is bias. He only approach Ibe to give Nigerians the feeling that he has done something. It is not enough. Put the pressure on him and his NIGERIAN father. He is a young lad who I believe will listen to his father with evidence like showing him a list of Nigerian players who were invited to the English team and dumped after just one or two matches. The list is long. In fact Oliseh can go again trying with the lastest news that the England coach has come out very plain saying he will not give Ibe a call or something like that. The advantage of having Ibe is his age. He will mature and help Nigeria later.
