Oliseh: No U-Turn On Eagles Selection Policy

By James Agberebi

New Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has refuted reports that he has changed his mind on calling up only players featuring in top divisions to the national team.
He reiterated this on Wednesday amid reports that he had soft pedalled on his approach.
Oliseh however stated that the criterion does not apply to specially talented youth players.
He wrote on his Twitter handle: “Only 1st division players are eligible to play for the Super Eagles. Only exceptions= U-23,U-20 players & Goalkeepers! No U-turn as some claim!”
Completesportsnigeria.com reports that Oliseh took over from former Eagles team-mate Stephen Keshi, who was relieved of his duties by the NFF.
His first assignment will be away to Tanzania in a 2017 AFCON qualifier in September.
The Eagles are currently second in their group behind Egypt.
