Olympic Boxing Qualifiers :  Apochi, Obareh Crash Out

Nigerian duo of Efetobor Apochi and Kehinde Obareh have both crashed out of the AIBA Olympic qualifiers in Yaounde, Cameroon.

 

In the fifth day of the championship, Apochi, a silver medalist at last year's All Africa Games, lost on points, 3-0, in the quarter-finals to St Pierre Joseph Kennedy from Mauritius.

 

According to the judges score-card, Kennedy won 30-27, 29-28 and 30-27, to progress into the semi-finals.

 

On her part, Obareh, a gold medalist in Congo Brazzaville, also lost on points, 3-0 in the quarter-finals to Morocco's Lachgar Hasnaa.

 

The judges scored the bout 36-38, 35-39 and 36-38 in favour of Hasnaa.

The championship which kicked off on Friday 11, will end on Saturday 19 March.
