Nigeria's Olympic Eagles are determined to secure a win against Japan in their opening game of the men's football event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games despite shoddy travelling arrangements, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The players only left Atlanta, United States of America on a chartered luxury plane for Manaus, venue of their clash against the Asians on Thursday, few hours before the 2am Friday morning clash, due to lack of funds.

They are however determined to put up a good show and start the competition on a positive note despite the challenges.
"It's a tough situation for us but we are determined to make the nation proud," the team's midfielder, Usman Mohammed, told Complestesportsnigeria.com.
"It's important to win the first game as that will put us in a good position to qualify for the next stage.
"To do that, we must avoid any form of distraction as we have the name of country and ourselves to protect."
His views were shared by winger Stanley Dimgba who says they are keen on emulating the Atlanta'96 squad who made history by becoming the first African side to win the football gold.
"We want to make history like our predecessors who won the football gold in 1996 and we are going to give our all to achieve that," Dimgba stated.
