Goals, tackles and assists were aplenty in European leagues across the weekend and African stars were not left out of the action. Indomitable Lions of Cameroon goalkeeper Idris Carlos Kameni was in goal over the weekend for Malaga in their 0-0 away draw against Athletico Bilbao.
The Cameroonian saved several times and had a great distribution rate of 77.8%. He beat off competition from the likes of Nigerian Carl Ikeme who also had a good game for Wolverhampton Wanderers in their 2-1 away win over Rotherham in the English Championship.
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was in action for Kasimpasa on Saturday as they defeated Osmanlispor 1-0 at the Osmanli Stadium.
Omeruo was yellow-carded in the 56th minute of the game though he had a good performance overall.
Omeruo who had 77 touches of the ball and came out better in three aerial duels made two tackles, five interceptions and four clearances. 63 of his passes against fellow Nigeria's Umar Aminu's club were
successfully completed which was 84.1% accurate.
Ivorian right-back Serge Aurier was impressive in PSG's 3-0 away win against OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera Stadium. The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations winner was booked five minutes to the end of the game which was his sixth in 11 Ligue 1 matches this season but overall his contributions were outstanding.
Aurier had 84 touches of the ball and won seven aerial duels. The defender had one shot on target and made one key pass. His pass accuracy was 84.9% as he completed 66 of them. Crucially his defensive display was good. He made two tackles, five interceptions and two clearances.
Former Flying Eagles defender Gbenga Arokoyo produced a fantastic performance in Gaziantepsor's 2-2 draw at home against Fenerbahce at Kamil Ocak Stadium.
Arokoyo boasted prior to the game that he was going to stop the danger men at Fenerbahce and although the visitors were able to score twice, the Nigerian had an individual performance worthy of commendation. He won the Man-of-the- Match award in the game.
The former Kwara United central defender assisted his team's first goal scored by Guinea's Aboubakar Demba Camara in the sixth minute.
The defender made four defensive tackles, seven clearances and seven interceptions. He blocked one shot in the game. Arokoyo completed 22 of his passes which were 45.5% accurate.
Arokoyo's compatriot John Chibuike was also in action in the game.
Super Eagles of Nigeria left-back Elderson Echiejile played from start to finish in AS Monaco's 2-1 away win against Bastia.
Five African internationals were in action in the game and Echiejile had a good outing for his club. He made one tackle, one interception and four clearances in the match. He won one aerial duel and had 52 touches of the ball. He completed 38 of his passes which were 73.7% accurate.
Togo's Floyd Ayite assisted Bastia's consolation goal. The hosts also had Algeria's Mehdi Mostefa and Ivorian Axel Ngando in action while AS Monaco's Lacine Traore who scored a brace was the hero of the game.
Senegalese midfielder Cheick Ndoye produced another wonderful performance for high-flying Angers as he was the Man-of-the Match in a 2-0 defeat of disappointing Lyon on Saturday.
Ndoye scored both goals for the team which were only promoted this season. The win lifts Angers to the second spot in the Ligue 1 table.
Ndoye had 61 touches of the ball and won five aeral duels. The midfielder made two tackles, two interceptions and two defensive clearances. He completed 41 of his passes which were 58.5% accurate.
One of the passes was key but did not result in a third goal for his club.
Desert Foxes of Algeria's Saphir Taider had an impressive game in Bologna's 2-2 home draw against Napoli at home on Sunday. The 23-year-old midfielder made four tackles, five interceptions and one clearance in the match.
Chadian forward Casimir Ninga was the Man-of-the Match in Montpellier's 2-2 away draw against Olympique Marseille at the Stade Valedrome on Sunday. Playing in a withdrawn role behind the striker,
Ninga scored his team's two goals in the game. His brace took his tally to five in the Ligue 1 this season.
The 22-year-old midfielder played for 90 minutes and had impressive statistics. He had 41 touches of the ball and won one aerial duel.
Ninga had a total of three shots with two on target. The midfielder completed 22 of his passes which were 63.6% accurate.
Algeria midfielder Riyad Mahrez was the star man as Leicester City continued their splendid performance in the Premier League. The table toppers defeated Swansea 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Mahrez scored all three of Leicester's goals in the game. The hat-trick takes his tally to 10 in 14 games.
The Man-of-the-Match award winner who played for 89 minutes had four of his five shots on target. He made one key pass and had 59 touches of the ball.
The left-footed midfield gem completed 39 of his passes which were 69.2% accurate.
Cote d'Ivoire's Lacine Traore was the Man-of-the-Match in AS Monaco's 2-1 away win against Bastia at the Stade Armand Césari on Saturday.
The Ivorian scored Monaco's both goals in the 72nd and 84th minutes which lifts the Principality side to the fourth position in the Ligue 1 table.
Traore had two of his three shots on target. He made one key pass and won four aerial duels, his height coming to great effect. The gangling striker had 37 touches of the ball and 23 pass completion which was 78.3% accurate.
Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo scored Watford's second goal in their 2-0 win against Norwich City on Saturday and was handed the Man-of-the-Match award.
The former Udinese and Granada hitman scored in the 90th minute of the game after going close several times earlier in the game. He was however booked for taking his jersey off in celebration and was substituted almost immediately by Quiue Flores Sanchez.
Ighalo had six shots on target from seven attempts. He had 28 touches of the ball, won one aerial duel and had 70% pass accuracy.
