…In Wednesday’s rescheduled game in Ibadan
By Sab Osuji:
Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, Ibadan will tomorrow (Wednesday) welcome defending champions, Kano Pillars in a rescheduled 2014/2015 Glo Premier League match day 3 fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The game was earlier put on hold following Kano Pillars involvement in the CAF Champions League.
As the big clash beckons, assistant coach of the Oluyole Warriors and a former Nigeria international, Bright Omokaro says 3SC are determined to win.
“As coaches, we’ve done all that is required of us to prepare the team for a good outing,” Omokaro who is called 10-10 by his admirers said.
“The players too are ready because they know the importance of winning the three points.
“The good thing is that we don’t have any injury concern in the team and every player is available for selection.”
The one-time defunct New Nigeria Bank FC Benin stopper paid glowing tribute to General Manager of
the club, Rasheed Balogun who he singled out for special commendation, saying he has
specially motivated the players ahead Wednesday’s game.
“If I have not come close to him, I wouldn’t have known he’s a great manager, one of the very best in the country.
“He has motivated the players and this has been doing since the start of the season.
Everyone knows what’s going on in the country at the moment but he has done a lot to prepare and lift the players for the game”.
Omokaro is pleased with the way the league is going with teams winning away from home, with particular reference to Sunshine Stars’ 3-0 win over Heartland on Sunday in Owerri.
“This is wonderful, it’s like the league is returning to the good old days of our time when nobody knows who’s gonna win a game whether at home or away.
“Unpredictability was what makes the league thick in our time, you can go anywhere and win as far as you play better”.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria
