–Ex-Eagles star tips Siasia boys for victory in Lusaka
Former Green Eagles defender Bright Omokaro believes that the National U-23 Eagles are capable of causing an upset against their Zambian counterparts in the return leg match of the final qualifier for the 2015 All Africa Games.
Both teams settled for a shocking 0-0 draw last week in Abuja with Nigerians developing cold feet over the return leg match.
But Omokaro who is called 10-10 reckons that the scoreless first leg result could turn an advantage for the Dream Team who now knows they must fight from start to finish in order to qualify.
“I’m sure all the players want to play in the All Africa Games.
“And I know that for them to qualify to be in the All Africa Games, they must win in Zambia.
“So the player will have to come out fighting, from start to finish. They have to score goals too.
“The good thing is that Zambia too will have to attack because they too need to score goals and this will give us advantage”, Omokaro said.
The Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC coach continued:”I remember in 1996 before the Olympic Games in Atlanta, the team was in similar situation after a goalless draw in the first leg of the final qualifiers against Kenya.
“The team went to Mombassa, against all expectations and permutations and won 3-0.
“If they work hard, if they play as a team and fight like wounded Lions, why not, they will win.
“Even a score draw can see them through but I must say the game will be really tough”, the former Insurance of Benin and Mighty Jets of Jos handler posited.
