Home-based Super Eagles midfielder, Paul Onobi, insists that the team is ready to conquer the rest of the continent following Monday’s 1-0 win against Cote d’l voire in a pre- African Nations Championship friendly fixture, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The win preserves the Eagles’ unbeaten streak ahead of the competition following victories against Amateur side, Rising Stars Academy, University of Pretoria and a 1-1 draw against Angola in their penultimate tune-up game.
Onobi believes that he and his team mates have proved they can win the competition in Rwanda with their impressive displays in the friendlies.
“We are happy with the win against Cote d’ lvoire. It underlines our readiness to do well in Rwanda,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“The Ivorians are a good side and they gave us a good fight.
“We have learnt a lot from the friendly games played so far and it will serve us well in the competition.”
The Eagles’ first game at the CHAN is against Niger on January 18 at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo, Kigali.
