By Adeboye Amosu:
Erasmus Onuh has blasted the management of Heartland Football Club of Owerri over their decision to suspend him.
The erstwhile Kwara United of Ilorin coach was told to step aside by the club on Monday over acts detrimental to the progress of the team.
He was accused of factionalising the team and criticising his players in public.
But in a swift reaction to the accusations levied against him, Onuh divulged to completesportsnigeria.com that he was asked to go because he refused to allow some individuals in the club to impose players on him, claiming the allegations were untrue and baseless.
“It’s shocking that some people in the club were desperate to see me leave the club,” he said on Tuesday.
“I was shocked when I received the letter and they said I was criticising my players in the public and also causing confusion in the team.
“I know some people were desperate to see my back because I refused to allow them impose players on me and I know they are the ones behind my suspension.
“The only thing I said was that we need quality midfielders for us to compete well in the league and I never for once said anything against the club or the players.
“It’s just sad that the management of the club didn’t deem it necessary to conduct an investigation into the matter before passing their judgement.
“At least they have the opportunity of going through the social media and other platforms to check if all they said about me was true or not and even hear my own side of the story.
“But I’m happy to be leaving the team on a high as I led the them to win their last game against Bayelsa United last weekend.”
