Former Nigeria international, Mobi Oparaku, has urged the Golden Eaglets to put behind them the loss to Croatia and focus on the second round.
After already booking their place into the knockout stage, following victories to USA and Chile, the Eaglets lost 2-1 to Croatia in their last group game.
Speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com, the 1993 U-17 World Cup-winning defender posited that since the game against Croatia was just a formality to them, they shouldn’t worry much about it.
“I believe since they’d already qualified before the game against Croatia, they should put the loss behind them,” Oparaku told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“They should focus on the second round which is more important because it is a different problem which they would have to deal with. And once you lose at this stage, you are out of the competition,” he said.
He expressed hope that the team will not disappoint as they prepare for the knockout stage.
“I wish them well. And I hope they do us proud because for them to have qualified with a game to spare, it shows they are a good side.”Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
