Nigeria stars Nurudeen Orelesi and James Adeniyi will play no part in the forthcoming UEFA Champions League competition with their Albanian club Skenderbeu Korce after the club was excluded from European competition for one year due to alleged match fixing, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The seven-time Albanian champions were dumped out of the competition after being alleged to have fixed three games in last season, German outlet Kicker has reported.
Skenderbeu Korce reportedly fixed a 3-0 home win over Sporting CP in November last year, the 3-0 loss at home to Lokomotiv Moscow in December and a third round Champions League qualifying game against the North Irish side Crusaders which ended 4-1 in Skenderbeu's favour at home.
Meanwhile, Skenderbeu Korce have announced that they will appeal the sanction from UEFA before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the coming days.
Adeniyi scored six goals in 17 games for the club while Orelesi made 15 appearances as Skenderbeu emerged champions for a sixth consecutive time.
