Liverpool thrashed Stoke City 4-1 at home to boost their chances of qualifying for next season’s Europa League.
Belgian forward Divock Origicontinued his impressive goalscoring form for the Reds when he scored a second half brace to keep Jurgen Klopp’s side four points adrift of the Europa League spot with a game in hand.
A stunning strike in the first from Alberto Moreno gave the Reds a seventh minute lead before Bojan Krkic’s header off a Shaqiri’s free-kick levelled scores in the 22nd minute of the encounter.
Daniel Sturridge restored Liverpool’s lead in the first half when he headed in Sheyi Ojo delightful cross three minutes from half time.
Peter Crouch had the ball in the net but his goal was ruled out for offside in the 42nd minute.
at the second half, Divock Origi came on for Ojo and justified his inclusion scoring a brace 20 minutes after coming on.
Stoke responded by bringing on Mame Biram Diouf for Shaqiri and Joselu for Bojan but their efforts on goal proved futile.
While Liverpool play away to AFC Bournemouth in their next game, Stoke will host Tottenham Hotspur in their next fixture.
