Osaze Odemwingie was in action for Stoke City against Liverpool who also had in their ranks Jordan Ibe, as the Reds won 1-0.
Odemwingie was introduced in the 78th minute for Ibrahim Afellay, but it was Philippe Coutinho who stole the show following his 30-yard strike which put Liverpool a goal up. Prior to the goal, Ibe made way for new signing Roberto Firmino in the 78th minute.
Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, was in action for CSKA as they defeated Amkar Perm who paraded Fegor Ogude and Izunna Uzochukwu, 2-0, with Bibras Natcho and Zoran Tosic getting on the score sheet for CSKA.
Musa who was on for 90 minutes, could not replicate his Champions League form on Wednesday against Sparta Praha, as he failed to score.
Ogude also saw action for 90 minutes but Uzochukwu, who was booked in the 30th minute, was replaced four minutes later by Alexander Prudnikov.
In Belgium, Imoh Ezekiel and Moses Simon were both in action for Anderlecht and Gent respectively, as the game ended 1-1.
Ezekiel was introduced for Matias Suarez in the 61st minute, while in the 46th minute, Simon came onin for Rafinha. Meanwhile, Idrissa Sylla put Anderlecht in front before Laurent Depoitre levelled for Gent.
In Scotland, Celtic recorded their second win of the season thanks to a 2-0 away win against Partick Thistle with Nigerian defender, Efe Ambrose, an unused substitute. He was in action in Celtic’s 2-0 opening day win against against Ross County.
