Stoke City striker Osaze Odemwingie has suffered a muscle injury two weeks after returning from an eight-month injury lay-off.
The former Cardiff City forward who was expected to feature for Stoke reserve team against Wolves on Monday pulled out of the game having what he described as a “little muscle injury”.
The 33 year old took to twitter to express his disappointment over the recent setback.
“Little set back with a minor muscle injury. So unfortunately I won’t take part in the reserve game this noon at the Britannia as planned,” he tweeted.
Stoke lost the game 4-2 as goals from Jim Kellerman, Jordan Graham, Aaron Simpson and a late Connor Hunte penalty handed the visitors victory.
Odemwingie has played two games as substitute for Stoke since he returned from his long injury lay-off.
