American based Nigeria athletes; Miles Ukaoma and Margaret Bamgbose, are hoping for better outing at the next Olympics after crashing out of their respective events here in Rio, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ukaoma 24, who crashed out of the 400m hurdles during the opening heat believes with better preparation next time Nigeria may fare better.
The same sentiment was shared by Bamgbose a 400m quatermiler whose games ended at the semi-finals stage.
"We can hope for a better future if we train harder," Ukaoma a graduate of Nabraska University who spoke on behalf of the others said when Completesportsnigeria.com caught up with them while purchasing drugs at a pharmacy at the Riocentro Olympic Park.
Uhuunoma Osazuwa who placed a distant 29 in her heptathlon event beamed with smiles as she admitted it was not the end of the world.
The African champion who may be participating in her final Olympics after debuting for Nigeria at the London Olympics only wished her mates who were still in the race better luck as they left the drugs store.
Nigeria's Olympic campaign in atheltics is virtually over as there is just the women's relay race scheduled for today (Thursday).
