Super Eagles defender Juwon Oshaniwa says Scottish champions Celtic are interested in snapping him up from Israeli outfit FC Ashdod.
The 24-year-old left-back was part of Nigeria’s team to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
And as the countdown to the end of the winter transfer reads less than two weeks to go, Oshaniwa has revealed that Celtic are interested in luring him to Scotland.
He told the BBC: “My club have told me that Celtic have contacted them about me and said they were interested in me.
“A move to play for Celtic would be a dream come true for me”, he added.
A switch to Celtic Park would mean playing alongside international teammate Efe Ambrose, something which would delight Oshaniwa.
“I would be so glad to meet up with my international teammate Efe Ambrose,” he said.
The Nigerian also well understands that swapping Ashdod for Celtic would represent a big step up in his career. However, it is one he feels fully able to take.
“I would love to play at Celtic. I have heard great things about the club and know how big they are.
“I have played on the biggest stage in the world at the World Cup and it’s time for me to move on. Football is a game of movement and it is time for me to move to a big club.
“I would love to play with them in the Champions League,” the resourceful defender concluded.
