Manuel Pellegrini has predicted a tough game between Manchester City and Newcastle in Tuesday’s English Premier League clash against Newcastle at St. James’ Park, although he is glad captain Vincent Kompany is back fit.
City defeated Chelsea 3-0 thanks to Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick on Saturday.
The win lifted City to third in the league table above Arsenal who dropped to fourth.
Speaking ahead of the game against the Magpies in his press conference on Monday, Pellegrini urged his players to replicate the performance against Chelsea.
“Newcastle are very dangerous, they have good players, St James’ is difficult and they need all the points to not get relegated,” Pellegrini said.
“We must continue the way we played on Saturday, solid, keeping a clean sheet and scoring goals.”
Pellegrini hailed Aguero for his goal scoring form of late.
“I’m happy for Kun that he is scoring again, he’s playing often, he’s not had injuries in the second half of the season,” Pellegrini added.
And on the injury front, Pellegrini ruled out Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, David Silva and Samir Nasri against Newcastle.
However, skipper Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling are included in the squad.
“Vincent will be an important help for the defence. Its been a very important season and we have to keep fighting for important things,” Pellegrini explained.
“Nasri was feeling well, it’s a small muscle injury we’ll see if he can play some minutes tomorrow. It depends on the way he returns.”
“Sagna (back) also Clichy, Silva and Nasri are out, Sterling and Kompany are both in the squad.”Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
