Pinnick Sure Eagles Will Beat Algeria, Expects Ikeme To Play

By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:

The Super Eagles are looking forward for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria with optimism that the North Africans will drop the maximum points in Uyo, President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has boasted.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Pinnick stated that he spoke with some of the players and that they were oozing with the confidence that they will beat the Algerians and remain top of their World Cup group after the November 12 match in Uyo  pointing out that Gernot Rohr has also been monitoring the players in Europe, watching their games and talking with them.

"The players are doing well in their respective clubs and barring injury and ill-health , they are raring not only to beat Algeria but to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. I spoke with Carl Ikeme yesterday and he told me he would be fit for the match with Algeria," Amaju told Complete Sports.

"We are condemned not only to beat the Algerians but condemned to win well because we cannot afford not to qualify for Russia. We must defeat Algeria come November 12 in Uyo. We just need the support and prayers of Nigerians to achieve our target."

  1. As much as Pinnick will want to talk so we know he is still the NFF boss, he need not fear that Giwa will smell his office during his regime. Having said that there are things the NFF boss should say that will give the public hope concerning the trending topic and that is the vs Algeria match. We want to hear talks like 'the NFF is sending a powerful delegate to Holland to talk to the young defender and his Nigerian Dad/mum.' We want to hear what is happening to Carl Ikeme and Isaac Success. We want hear negative news about Algeria. We want to hear how SuperSport is helping Nigeria win the vs Algeria match. Pinnick should not come to talk about what frre readers association at news stands gist. Anytime he talks we will be intetested to read it. Why should I waste my precious time reading scrabs from the NFF boss? Stop talking if you do not have solid news to tell us. Just keep out of the news.
