Liverpool suffered their first league defeat of the season to newly promoted side Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
First half goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray handed Sean Dyche’s promoted side their first win of the season following last weekend’s opening day defeat to Swansea City.
Vokes scored the opener just after two minutes when smashed home Andre Gray’s pass after Nathaniel Clyne’s dreadful back pass.
It was Vokes’ first ever Premier League goal.
Gray, who assisted the opened, beat two Liverpool defenders before firing past Mingolet for his side’s second.
After conceding early, Jurgen Klopp’s side began to dominate the game and they had the majority of possession in the first half, with Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino trying to find ways through a packed Burnley half.
Daniel Sturridge, who returned to the starting line up had several chances from distance in the first half, but missed the target.
Coutinho also tried to get the Reds on level terms with two 25-yard curling attempts saw his ball high over the crossbar.
