Stoke City head coach Tony Pulis has praised Victor Anichebe for his sterling performance against Newcastle United at St James Park.
The 26 year old burly forward headed home his third goal of the season in his side’s 1-1 draw to ensure the Albions’ place in the top flight division for next season.
“Victor was fantastic and Saido did very well when he came on. Some of his work was top, top class.”
“This was the toughest of the lot in lots of respects, so I’m pleased personally for the players, the chairman, the staff and especially the supporters.
“We host the champions on Monday and we will look forward to that.
Recall that Anichebe’s goal was the 900th goal scored in the English Premier League this season but that goal lasted just ten minutes as Ayoze Perez equalized for the relegation threatened Magpies.
