Rangers Hold 3SC In Ibadan

Old rivals 3SC and Rangers split the points in Ibadan on Sunday following a 1-1 draw in a Nigeria premier league match.

Shooting Stars now have eight points from as many games, while Rangers have 10 points from nine games.

Rangers took the lead in the 25th minute through Edwin Eziyodawe, who capitalised on goalkeeper Abiodun Akande's error, who failed to hold a ball he went for to tap in.

Tope Orelope equalised for 3SC in the 38th minute from the penalty spot after Emmanuel Daniel kicked Nojeem Olukokun.

Rangers played the entire second half a man short after Bobby Clement was sent off for a second booking after a challenge on Afolabi Okiki.

On the hour, Seun Akinyemi almost got the winner for the host team, but his effort came off the crossbar. In Aba,Kano Pillars recorded their first away win of the season  by beating Abia Warriors 1-0 on Sunday.

Pillars match winner was Adamu Hassan, who hit target as early as the fourth minute with a powerful volley off Ubong Ekpai's cross.

Wikki Tourists climbed to second place on the league table following a 1-0 win over Lobi Stars.

Wikki now have 17 points, same as leaders Sunshine Stars.

 In Owerri,two goals by Collins Nwaneri and Babangida Hassan in the first five minutes against Akwa United of Uyo ensured Heartland returned to winning ways.

Nwaneri opened the scoring two minutes into the match with a  good effort after a moment of confusion in the box.

The game was ended as a contest on 5 minutes when Babangida finished a sweet counter attack.
