Leicester City boss, Claudio Ranieri, says that his side must react to their poor league form when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League lunch-time kick-off on Saturday.
Leicester’s last game prior to the international break was a 0-0 home draw against Southamption.
The Foxes had earlier lost 4-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
In their last meeting against Chelsea in the English Football League Cup at the King Power Stadium, Leicester lost 4-2.
Reflecting on Leicester’s last visit to Chelsea which saw them get a guard of honour after being crowned EPL champions, Ranieri described Saturday’s clash as a very important one for them.
“The last match at Chelsea was special with the guard of honour, but Saturday is an important match and we must react,” Ranieri said in his press conference on Friday.
Ranieri said he is pleased non of his players came back from international duty injured, while hinting that he plans to rotate his squad.
“All my internationals are back. The last this morning. Fortunately everyone is okay.
“We played seven matches in 22 days. I have to rotate a little more of my players. I will wait until after training.”
On Islam Slimani’s impact since joining Leicester and availability of Danny Drinkwater and Nampalys Mendy ahead of the Chelsea game, Ranieri said: “Islam Slimani’s impact has been good. He’s scored goals and now he will improve more. He’s intelligent tactically.
“Danny Drinkwater is okay. He made a verygood training session today.”
“Nampalys Mendy. He is fit but it’s just a little pain in his ankle at the moment.”Watch The Premier League Live!! with EXPRESSVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
