Adebimpe Quadri, a 24-year-old FIFA-badged referee will take charge of Sunday’s match day one Nigeria Professional Football League fixture between Kano Pillars and Rangers at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Incidentally, the rookie will be handling the biggest match of the opening matchday of the season.
Quadri, who is from the Lagos State Referees Association, is the youngest FIFA-badged match official in Nigeria.
The encounter which is one of the high-profile games in the opening matchday of the season is expected to be a highly entertaining affair.
The hosts who relinquised the title to Enyimba last season have reinforced their squad with a number of key stars and will be looking to start the new campaign on a positive note, likewise the visitors who last won the title in 1984.
