Completesportsnigeria.com's ADEBOYE AMOSU appraises the individual performances of Nigeria's Olympic team, the U-23 Eagles, in their second Group B win against Sweden early Monday morning in the ongoing men's football event of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
EMMANUEL DANIEL 6/10
The goalkeeper had little to do in the game as he was rarely tested by the Swedes. Did a good job of organising his defence well.
STANLEY AMUZIE 7/10
One of Nigeria's best performers in the game. The left- back performed his defensive duties with panache and joined the attack at will. He delivered a delightful cross which was converted by Umar Sadiq for Nigeria's solitary match winner.
WILLIAM TROOST- EKONG 6/10
Put up a strong performance, and did a good job of keeping the opposition defenders at bay.
SINCERE SETH 6/10
Combined excellently well with Troost- Ekong at the heart of the Eagles' defence. Did better than his contribution in the first game against Japan.
SHEHU ABDULLAHI 6/10
The right- back offered support for Ezekiel Imoh going forward and performed his main duty as a defender excellently well.
USMAN MOHAMMED 6/10
The Portugal- based midfielder shielded the back-four well, and also provided support for the strikers.
AZUBUIKE OKECHUKWU 6/10
Not really at his best in the game, but played his part in ensuring the his side booked their place in the quarter-finals.
JOHN MIKEL OBI 7/10
The Chelsea midfielder was unlucky not to have scored a goal in the game with his two efforts well saved by the Sweden goalkeeper. Played better than he did in the first game against Japan.
OGHENEKARO ETEBO 7/10
The forward was unlucky not to add to his four goals against Japan.
His goal-bound efforts were stopped thrice by the Sweden goalkeeper.
IMOH EZEKIEL 7/10
Ezekiel proved his worth once again running at the Sweden defenders at will and was also unlucky not to score at least a goal in the game.
UMAR SADIQ 7/10
Scored the winner with a powerful header and could have added one or two more. He was substituted by Aminu Umar in the second half.
KABIR UMAR 5/10
Took the place of goal scorer Umar Sadiq and was lively for the entire period he spent on the field.
KINGSLEY MADU 4/10
Replaced captain of the side John obi Mikel late on and did a good job in helping his side preserve their lead.
NDIFREKE UDO 3/10
Took the place of the injured Shehu Abdullahi in the closing stages of the game and did his job well.
