Rio 2016 Wrestling: Oborududu, Adekuoroye On Redemption Mission For Nigeria

By Oladimeji Loko in Rio:

Blessing Oborududu and Odunayo Adekuoroye will today attempt to redeem what is left of the pride of the Nigerian Wrestling team at these games when they step out for their quarter-final matches at Carioca Arena, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.‎

Oborududu,  the captain of the team will meet Battsetseg Soronzonboldin in a quarter-final tie in the 63 kg class.

Oborududu, a Commonwealth games bronze medalist will be desperate to turn the tide of losses they suffered Wednesday when in one fell swoop three wrestlers crashed out  of medal contention.

Adekuoroye will be under pressure to produce some of her best efforts in the 53kg category where she is currently the  number number three.

She meets Sweden's Mathesson Sofia in a 53 kg clash to determine who moves in to the next stage.

On paper, the African champion looks good to grab a semi-final berth, but a lot of factors come into play when the stakes are high.
