Argentina’sRiver Plate are through to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup after they defeated Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1-0 in the first semi-final on Wednesday.
Lucas Alario scored the only goal of the match in the 72nd minute to send River Plate to the final.
They will be waiting for the winners of the second semi-final between Barcelona and Guangzhou Evergrande which comes up on Thursday.
In the fifth place match that was decided on Wednesday, Mexico’s Club America defeated TP Mazembe 2-1.
The last time an Argentine team got to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup was in the 2014 edition in Morocco when San Lorenzo lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.
