Rohr Challenges Obaje To Score More Goals

By Sab Osuji:

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has congratulated 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League highest goal scorer Godwin Obaje after the Wikki Tourists forward was presented with the NPFL Goal King award in Abuja on Friday.

Obaje is currently in the Super Eagles camp preparing for Sunday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia on Sunday in Ndola.

Rohr personally presented the award to Obaje who scored 18 goals in the just concluded season.

"I am proud of your achievement this season; you have been challenged to surpass your personal goals record. Congratulations," Rohr said as he gave the plaque to Obaje.

Obaje dedicated the award to his family, friends and team mates.

"I am delighted, it is a great honour. I am dedicating the award to my family, friends and teammates at Wikki Tourists and I hope to be better next season," Obaje said.

Bad image for the NFF owing Super Eagles players for expenses incurred for the team while in Olympics. Mike has not written off the money. So why not bridge the ugly gap. It is national pride can make a player to dip his hand into his savings and offer to assist whereas the politicians and glass house officials are collecting their own allowances regularly. It’s a big disgrace to NFF to owe players!
