Gbolahan Salami has been appointed captain of the home-based Super Eagles side ahead of Saturday's African Nations Championship qualifying match against Burkina Faso, reports completesportsnigeria.com.
Completesportsnigeria.com scooped from a reliable source in the team's camp in Port Harcourt that the Warri Wolves forward will lead the team against the Stallions.
The source also confirmed the appointment of Sharks defender, Chima Akas, as vice-captain of the side.
The match will be played at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, while the second leg will come up a week later in Ouagadogou.
The overall winner of the two legs will qualify for the 2016 CHAN to be hosted by Rwanda in January.
Nigeria came third at the last edition of the competition that was staged in South Africa last year.
