Super Eagles forward, Aaron Samuel,l believes the disappointment of missing out on the last African Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea will help fire up the team to secure a place in the 2017 edition of the competition in Gabon.
The three-time kings of Africa will begin their qualifying campaign next month against Chad in Kaduna.
And the China-based striker insists the team cannot afford to fail the nation once again.
”It was disappointing watching the last AFCON on television without partcipating in it,” Samuel told completesportsnigeria.com.
”I believe my collegues must feel the same way and together we must make sure we don’t allow that to repeat itself. We have learnt from the last disappointment and that will motivate us to do well in the qualifiers this time around.
”Though Chad are not a big name in African football, we are going to give them the respect they deserve.”
