Senegal Stop Nigeria From Beach World Cup

The Super Sand Eagles have failed to qualify for this year’s FIFA Beach World Cup in Portugal after they lost 4-3 to Senegal in the semi-final of the CAF Beach Soccer Championship on Saturday in the Seychelles.

Defending champions Senegal have now stopped Nigeria from taking part at the World Cup twice.

The coach Audu Adamu Ejo-led team led the Senegalese 3-2 in the first period, but the Senegalese came back to level and ended the regulation 3-3.

They scored the winner in the extra time to seal their passage into the final of the African Beach Soccer Championship.

Africa will be represented at the World Cup by the winners and runners-up in the Seychelles.

Madagascar and Senegal will represent Africa at the Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal.

Senegal will be looking to defend their title at the CAF Beach Soccer Championship when they face Madagascar in the final on Sunday.

Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire will play for third place, Egypt and Morocco will face off for fifth, while Ghana and hosts Seychelles will battle for the consolation of seventh place.
