Nigeria Under-23 coach Samson Siasia is upbeat about his side’s chances in today’s 2015 All-Africa Games qualifying decider against Zambia to be played at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Both sides played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg that took place at the Abuja National Stadium on Sunday 22nd March.
“Even though we are an attacking team, we must also defend smartly. We’re going to be playing in a hostile environment and we must be disciplined and avoid playing unnecessary offside traps which could cost us,” Siasia said.
Meanwhile tickets for today’s All Africa Games Qualifier between Zambia U23 and Nigeria U23 are on sale according to the Football Association of Zambia.
The tickets are on sale at the Football House and All Post Offices in Lusaka.
Charges for the game have been pegged at K20 all round except VIP which will cost K200.
The Nigerians must get an outright win or a score draw to be guaranteed a place at the All Africa Games in Congo. But another scoreless draw will mean the tie is decided on penalties.
The winner of the fixture will qualify for the Men’s Football Tournament of the 11th AAG coming up in Congo-Brazzaville from September 3rd to 18th this year.
Zambia will be favourites to go through in the final round of the qualifiers and they will be aiming to cause an upset against the 1996 Olympic Games Football Champions.
The match will commence by 2pm Nigerian Time.
