National U-23 Eagles coach Samson Siasia has told Complete Sports that discipline is key to his team success as they prepare to take on Congo in a 2016 Olympic Games qualifier billed for next month.
The former Super Eagles handler who on Wednesday issued a deadline to Flying Eagles players to report in camp or forget the invitation said there is a need for all the players to train together and understand one another before the match so that they won’t make mistake during the match.
Siasia said issuing a deadline to players is not to threaten them but to make them understand that he is in camp for serious business and more so the players should know that they need to obey the rule and regulation in camp.
“I am not threatening any player but you must understand that discipline is key to any good thing we want to achieve as a team and they must obey the rules and regulation in camp”, says the former Nantes FC of France.
The dark complexioned Coach who led Nigeria to silver medal finish at the 2008 Olympic Games in Holland, will be banking on the experience to qualify the present team for the global event holding in Rio, Brazil next year.
Meanwhile, as at 4: 48pm yesterday when Complete Sports spoke with the team’s Media Officer, Timi Ibikgboro, none of the invited Flying Eagles players had reported in camp with less than few hours to the deadline issued by the Head Coach.
“None of the players has reported as we speak”, says Ibikagboro
