There were no places for the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi and Junior Ajayi as U-23 Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, announced a 30-man squad ahead of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal next month.
Awoniyi and Ajayi scored key goals for the team in their pursuit of the AFCON ticket but they have since moved abroad, and the call-ups are all based in Nigeria.
The list was announced by the Nigeria Football Federation on their official website on Friday.
Among some of the players who made this list include Kingsley Sokari, Oghenekaro Etebo and Christian Pyagbara.
Siasia has also ordered the invited players to report at the Serob Legacy Hotel, Abuja on Sunday, while training will commence on Monday.
The 30-man list:
Daniel Emmanuel (Rangers), Yusuf Mohammed (Kano Pillars), Erhun Obanor (Abia Warriors), Segun Oduduwa (Nath Boys), Sincere Seth (Rhapsody FC), Ndifreke Effiong (Abia Warriors), Chima Akas (Sharks FC), Usman Mohammed (Taraba FC), Godspower Effiong (Kano Pillars), Daniel Etor (Enyimba), Etebo Oghenekaro (Warri Wolves), Tiongoli Tonbara (Bayelsa Utd), Wanbe Godwin (Rangers), Austin Oladapo (Ifeanyi Ubah), Semiu Liadi (Warri Wolves), Kingsley Sokari (Enyimba), Christian Pyagbara (Sharks), Iroha Ebuka (Diamond FC), Qudus Suleiman (36 Lions), Yusuf Lawal (36 Lions), Adebayo Ajadi (36 Lions), Israel Emmanuel (Akwa Utd), Akinola Johnson (Freestan FC), Tochukwu Nnorom (Rangers), Chukwudi Esoze (Kwara Utd), Stanley Dimgba (Warri Wolves), Lucky Jimoh (36 Lions), Philip Johnson Effiong (Abia Comets), Ajabor Sunday (Freestan FC), Charles Chukwudi (Plateau Utd).
