The coach of the Nigeria U-23 national team, Samson Siasia, has invited Flying Eagles midfielder and four more players to the team’s camp ahead of the return leg of the African U-23 Championship final qualifying fixture against Congo.
The Nigeria Football Federation website quotes Siasia as saying that the invited players were invited to add bite to the team’s attack and solidify the defence as the team intensifies preparations for the crucial return leg in Pointe Noire on Sunday, August 2.
The other invited players are overseas-based Aminu Umar and Abdullahi Shehu, Semiu Liadi of Warri Wolves FC and Ndifreke Effiong of Abia Warriors.
The home-based players are expected to report to camp immediately while those based overseas are expected in camp by this weekend.
Meanwhile, Siasia has sounded a note of warning to all players given permission to travel after the team’s first leg game against Congo in Port Harcourt to report unfailingly to camp on Wednesday or be axed.
