–U23 Eagles boss gears up for Tunisia friendly
Coach of the dream team VI Samson Siasia has defended the size of his players claiming that size doesn’t play football anymore rather; it is the sound football intelligence that does prevail in modern day football.
The Dream Team VI has a double header international friendly with their counterpart from Tunisia. The aim of the friendly is to get competitive feed on the team as organized by the Nigeria football federation.
“It’s not about how big you are but rather how smart you van be ion the pitch of play” Siasia told footballlive.ng from the team’s camp base in Abuja.
The 47 year old former Nantes and Lokeren forward also revealed that no one would be joining the team anymore, as he is satisfied with the quality he has on ground.
He says players like Bobby Kingsley Sokari who is currently with the Super Eagles Team B in Dubai, might not be given the opportunity because he has not been part of the grooming process.
“People that are proud of this team are the ones that are here right now and not the ones that are outside. Why would they want to be part of the team when they are away?”
“The players that are here right now have been the ones we’ve been grooming for the last one month and they understand how we want to play. If Bobby Kingsley Sokari comes right now and starts to play in a way I don’t want then there becomes a problem”.
