Nigeria Under-23 coach Samson Siasia has assured the nation that the Dream Team will be fully prepared for the up-coming All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.
The Nigerian youth team have suffered some inconsistent form of late, especially on home soil, causing a fair amount of concern over their readiness for the competition in September.
However, Siasia has pledged to improve performances between now and the start of the tournament and is confident the team will be ready to achieve its aims at the tournament.
“We have some time between now and the All Africa Games and we will put in a lot of work to ensure the team gets better,” he said.
“We understand there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done and that is what we have to between now and then.
“For example, we need to improve our home form and that has to do with the player’s confidence.
“Sometimes they feel under too much pressure playing at home so we have to work on that.
“One thing people should remember too is that we are relatively a new team and it is going to take some time.
“We will need time and games to gel and these are the things we will do before the All Africa Games,” Siasia concluded.
