Siasia: How My Tired Boys Defeated Japan

Siasia and his boys got to Manaus only a few hours before kick-off against Japan, and still went on to claim all three points.

According to, Siasia however admitted that he was surprised by the outcome of the game.

“I don’t know how we did it."

“We just didn’t want to give up. We had this fighting spirit and wanted to show what we were made of.

"Even though we were tired, we never gave up.”

Up next for the U-23 Eagles is a clash against Sweden who drew 2-2 with Colombia in the other Group B match.

I couldn’t watch the march life but I watch the replay through Startimes NTA sport Chanel. They always show replay of all march. I was highly impressed with the team spirit and fighting ability to hold a win to the end despite their lateness to the venue and tiredness. Oh my God! Its amazing, that means they will do better by Gods Grace in their next match. Sisia, Crews and the players I salute you, it shows you love your country.
