Nigeria U-23 national team coach, Samson Siasia, has said his team will do better than they did against West African bitter rivals, Ghana, when they meet Senegal on Saturday.
The U-23 Eagles defeated the Black Satellites of Ghana 2-0 in their Group B match at the Kintele Sports Complex, Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday to go top of the group.
But Siasia, who refused to be carried away by the praises his team received following a splendid performance said the team will improve on their performance against Senegal on Saturday.
“We are happy to win,” Siasia told completesportsnigeria.com.
“Yes, we played well but there is still room for improvement. We have to play better in our next match and that we are surely going to do.”
The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games football silver-winning coach further restated his determination to take home the gold medal at the conclusion of the men’s football event of the on-going 11th All Africa Games.
“That’s why we’re here, to win the gold medal and we are working hard for it,” Siasia added.
Siasia admitted that his players missed a lot of scoring chances against Ghana but promised that will not be the case against Senegal.
“Before coming here, we watched video tapes of our previous matches with a view to correcting our mistakes,” he said.
“That’s part of our training schedule. If we don’t do that, we would end up repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
“So we’ll go back, review today’s match so as to come out better against Senegal.”Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
