Dream Team VI coach, Samson Siasia has stressed that his team will have to score ‘many goals’ when they square up against Zambia in an All Africa Games qualifier this weekend in Abuja.
The Nigerian U23’s will host their Zambian counterparts on Sunday at the Abuja National Stadium in the final round, first leg All Africa Games qualifier and must get a good result to stand a good chance of qualifying.
“We need to score goals in that game,” Siasia said. “I know we can score goals as we have proven in our last games but we need to score more goals this time.
“This is the first leg of the last hurdle and we must do better than we did here against Gabon. We have made some corrections and the boys are better now and we just hope we can put the ball in the back of the net as much as possible.”
The Nigerians brushed Gabon aside 6-1 on aggregate round to make the final round, but struggled as they beat the Gabonese 2-0 in Abuja to complete the rout.
And Siasia reckons they must perform better this time at home.
“We were a bit jittery playing at home the last time but the players understand the advantage they have playing at home now and hopefully we will make that count.”
