National U-23 Eagles coach Samson Siasia is confident that his boys will not disappoint as they file out against Gabon in their first qualifying game of the 2015 All Africa Games, saying the boys have been trained and well prepared for the away match billed to hold on Saturday in Libreville.
Before the team departed the country’s shores yesterday for the away match, the former Super Eagles handler said the coaching crew which also include Fatai Amoo were careful in their choice of players that made the trip to Gabion.
“It is an away match and we are not expecting an easy game so we are prepared and we have also told the players not to underrate them in the Guineans. We need to win the match so that the players can have the confidence to forge ahead in the qualifiers because we still have many matches to play”, says the former Nantes FC of France striker.
“Being our first game, we expect the match to be tough and we are going to do our best as well to return with victory. They need our prayers and support to also win the match.
The team which will also represent Nigeria in the 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers is comprises of some overseas based players and Siasia has explained that the idea is to further strengthen the team ahead of the qualifiers.
“We decided to invite some players from overseas because they are Nigerians doing well for their various clubs and we believe that their inclusion in the team will further strengthen the squad”, he said
